Hi, I’m Roxana — founder of Roots to Flavors, passionate host, curious traveler, and seeker of meaning through taste.

I was born in Transylvania, next to the medieval city of Sighisoara, the one city that has welcomed travelers from all over the world for centuries. Growing up in a place so deeply rooted in history and hospitality shaped who I am today.

From a very young age, I worked in hospitality, this experience had a very meaningful impact on my career because I learned that making people feel welcomed is very fulfilling for me and my curious mind went on searching how to offer more memorable experiences.

I went on to build a career of over 10 years in the tourism industry, organising cultural trips and curating journeys that helped travellers connect with the essence of a place. One of the most defining chapters of that journey was working as a tour guide in Antalya, Turkey — a role that opened my eyes to the deep emotional impact of food & travel. How a simple meal can bring strangers together. How a taste can become a memory. How people feel seen and welcomed through food.

These experiences taught me that gastronomy is one of the most genuine ways to understand a culture.

Why I Created This Platform

Every journey I take starts with one question:
“What does this place taste like?”

I don’t just visit countries — I search for the flavors that define them. I plan my trips around tasting menus, food tours, and culinary stories whispered from kitchen to table. In every corner of the world, I’ve found that food is the language everyone speaks — and behind it is always a story waiting to be shared.

With Roots to Flavors, I aimed to create a space where people like me — those who travel with their senses, value connection, and seek out the beautiful details — could discover the most authentic culinary experiences available.
